The pit bull bit her right leg causing ankle injuries including lacerations and puncture wounds. The dog’s owner was living with his sister-in-law in the neighborhood. Although the dog owner was unemployed and uninsured, because the dog owner’s sister-in-law was providing shelter, food and care to the dog she was harboring the dangerous pit bull. The sister-in-law’s homeowners insurance company, USAA, paid the entire liability limit of $100,000.
